River Heights Eye Care is an optical clinic in Cochrane, Alberta. We provide comprehensive eye exams, emergency assessments, and prescription glasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses.

For residents of Jasper, we have frame and lens sets starting at $200 and we can provide contact lens trials to contact lens wearers who are able to present a valid contact lens prescription. Proof of Jasper residence is required to receive these offers.

ShellYEG is the online name of an Edmonton woman devastated by the wildfire events that have befallen the town of Jasper, Alberta. Now a medically retired web content specialist and public information officer, she has worked with such organizations as Partners in Protection, creators of the FireSmart manual; the International Association of Wildland Fire; Guidance Group; and the ministry formerly known as Sustainable Resource Development.

With education and experience in public relations, graphic design, and web content management, Shell leveraged her skills to create Help for Jasper, a single, convenient resource to help wildfire evacuees.

Before moving to Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta, Shell lived in Fort McMurray. Working on the FireSmart manual in the early 2000s, and also writing about the 2011 Slave Lake fire, the wildfire events of the past several years have profoundly affected her. She didn’t have to think twice about whether my skills could help, even if in a small way.
