Valley to Peak OT Consulting is offering the following occupational therapy services to any Jasper area wildfire evacuee:
- complimentary virtual occupational therapy services, until December 31, 2024, to any Jasper area wildfire evacuees in Alberta or BC (within 90 days of moving to BC)
- complimentary in-person occupational therapy services, until December 31, 2024, to any Jasper area wildfire evacuees in the Calgary area.
Services include:
- assessing accessibility, independence and safety in temporary lodging for anyone with mobility difficulties
- assessing for mobility equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, canes), accessible bathroom equipment, bed rails, one-handed adaptive medical equipment (etc)
- assessing for pressure wound prevention for any bed/wheelchair bound individuals
- coordinating with local medical equipment vendors for rentals/purchases
- coordinating with local rehab (OT, PT, SLP) providers to continue any essential acute rehab services
- mental health and cognitive support
