  • Supports to evacuees and ranchers with livestock
    Evacuated farmers and ranchers and any evacuees with livestock may contact the wildfire resource line at 310-4455 with agriculture- and livestock-elated questions. These individuals should register at the reception centre identified for their community so staff can quickly assist them and connect them with the resources they need. Friends at the Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies have communicated that they can host livestock trailers, campers and others. Interested individuals are invited to refer to the map and list of available facilities.

    The following reception centres have been set up to welcome and assist wildfire evacuees. Evacuees must register online or in person at the reception centre in their community. This ensures staff can quickly help them and connect them with needed resources.

    The agents at RE/MAX 2000 are working to find available rental properties in Hinton. They now have a few available to Jasper evacuees. There should be a few more available in the next week or so.     Summit River Lodge Resort and Campground is offering wildfire evacuees 50% off accommodations. With 40 acres, a private beach, campers' washroom, and WiFi, the resort and campground, located 20 kilometres south of Valemount, British Columbia, is offering lodge rooms or cabins at $99/night or $500/week. Full-service campsites are available for $30.

  • Peavey Marts in western Canada offer parking lots to those needing temporary space
    Many hotels, motels, and RV parks are at capacity in centres near wildfire evacuation locations. In an effort to assist wildfire evacuees who have had to flee their homes, Peavey Marts are offering their parking lots for daytime/overnight RV parking should anyone need temporary space.
