Accessing prescription medications when you’ve been displaced

Merv and Laurie-Ell pharmacists with Jasper Pharmasave, have heard from many patients, displaced into British Columbia and other communities within Alberta. These patients are concerned they cannot access their prescription medications. The .pair offers tips and advice.

All pharmacies within Alberta can access patients' medication files via a networked system known as Netcare. Evacuees accessing a pharmacy or drugstore can present their Alberta Health Care Card and photo ID to the pharmacist, who may then access their individual medication file.

Evacuees with questions about accessing their prescription medications are invited to call
